TPFF launches fundraiser for The Road to Bethlehem

Tipping Point Film Fund is starting the next phase of its fundraising effort for The Road to Bethlehem (released Autumn 2011) and we would like you – with a little help from us – to get involved by hosting your own screening and post-film discussion. You can find details of how you can get involved at the end of this page.

The Road to Bethlehem film and funding update
In The Road to Bethlehem, Leila Sansour (director of Jeremy Hardy versus the Israeli Army) takes us on her own personal film journey to Bethlehem, the city of her birth and her late-father’s beloved homeland.  As she films her city over four Christmases – she slowly finds herself at the centre of an international campaign to save Bethlehem from a wall that threatens to carve it up and cut it off – separating its citizens from land, family and the outside world.

The Road to Bethlehem film is almost now completed, thanks to contributions from individuals and organisations worldwide. We are now fundraising for a 2-3 year  international campaign outreach (beginning 2011)  which will accompany the film on its release. A campaign that will engage the public and decision-makers on the critical issues affecting Bethlehem and Palestine more widely and inspire audiences around the world to get involved and really help make a difference.

Tipping Point Film Fund is looking to raise the first £10,000 towards the costs of running the campaign and we want you to help us do it! For information about how you can get involved go to the end of this page, to listen to a message from Leila Sansour click on the video below.

How you can get involved – host a fundraising film night!
Get together with your friends, family and colleagues; local community; church members and organise a screening of Leila’s first film ‘Jeremy Hardy vs The Israeli Army’. Make it that bit more special by cooking a traditional Palestinian meal for your guests! And if you are inspired by what you’ve seen in the film, why not continue with a discussion afterwards.

We will provide the DVD, a recipe and discussion points. To cover this plus postage all you need to do is register for £5, decide on the contribution from your guests (we suggest £10)  and get planning!

All fundraising groups will be credited on The Road to Bethlehem’s website;  fundraising event organisers who raise £250 or more will be invited to a preview of the film and will receive a free copy of the film on DVD, once released.

By holding your own screening and discussion you are raising vital awareness on this issue;  by fundraising for The Road to Bethlehem’s  2-3 year outreach campaign you are enabling Leila’s next film to make impact and helping contribute to its success.
